Dear Reynolds Community,
I hope this message finds you well! My name is Alex Alberta, and I have the joy of teaching Performing Arts at Reynolds School. We’ve had a wonderful start to the year as students explore our opening music units and develop their musical skills. Kindergarteners are discovering “How Do We Learn?” through steady beat, movement, and echo patterns; first graders are exploring “Who Am I?” by expressing emotions and individuality through music; and second graders are learning “How Can We Build Our Community?” by connecting music to teamwork, respect, and shared values. Across all grades, students have been practicing rhythm reading, solfege, instrument playing, and learning their concert songs!
I’d like to share a few important updates about communication and upcoming events.
All Performing Arts announcements, including concert details, will be shared through Rooms on the USR Schools website and app. Please check my page regularly for updates. If you would like to reach me directly, you can send a message on Rooms or email me at aalberta@usrschoolsk8.com. Concert practice videos will be posted throughout the year on my Rooms page and Clever page (Performing Arts with Ms. Alberta). For your convenience, here are the links to the songs we have learned so far!
Kindergarten – Hello To All The Children Of The World ; You Are My Sunshine
First Grade – You've Got A Friend In Me ; My Favorite Things
Second Grade – This Land Is Your Land ; Together We Can Change The World
In January, I will share official concert invitations along with practice packets, which will include song lyrics and videos for at-home practice. Please be on the lookout for these in Rooms! In the meantime, here are our spring concert dates:
Kindergarten – March 5, 2026 @ 9:00am
First Grade – March 12, 2026 @ 9:00am
Second Grade – March 19, 2026 @ 9:00am
I am so excited for the creativity, teamwork, and joy this year will bring. Thank you for your continued support of the arts at Reynolds!
All my best,
Ms. Alex Alberta
