assessment

As we approach the upcoming NJSLA testing sessions next week, we want to take a moment to share some helpful information and tips to ensure our students feel confident and ready to do their very best.

Our students have been working hard all year and are well prepared for the assessment. To help them feel even more ready, we encourage a few simple steps at home:

  • Be sure Chromebooks are fully charged the night before testing

  • Get a good night’s sleep

  • Eat a healthy breakfast each morning

  • Encourage a positive mindset and a “do your best” attitude

The NJSLA provides valuable insight into each student’s academic progress and growth. It also plays a role in placement decisions and eligibility for certain academic programs. More than anything, it’s an opportunity for students to show what they’ve learned and how they are progressing alongside their peers both locally and statewide.

We appreciate your partnership in helping students approach these assessments with focus and confidence. A few encouraging words from you can go a long way in reinforcing the importance of giving their best effort!

Please also make sure your child arrives to school on time on all testing days. Students who arrive after testing begins will need to make up the session on a later date.
