The School Community
The Upper Saddle River School District is located in Bergen County, about 25 miles north of New York City, and neighbors the towns of Saddle River, Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Ramsey. Upper Saddle River is known for its excellent school system for PreK through 8th grade, and its students attend Northern Highlands Regional High School, one of the state’s most highly regarded high schools. The USR school community cultivates a positive and supportive atmosphere where creativity is encouraged, ideas are explored and developed, and lifelong learning is highly valued. The Board of Education is committed to further enhancing the exemplary education provided for all district students and requires a candidate who:- Exhibits strong, visionary leadership with a proven track record as a results-driven administrator;
- Possesses exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Brings building-level administrative experience and a successful background in teaching or a related field;
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively while fostering a culture of mutual respect and trust with students, staff, parents, and community; and
- Recognizes and effectively manages the complexities of a high-expectation community.
