Welcome to Kindergarten!!!  

I am honored to be your child's teacher this year!  Teaching has always been my passion and I feel lucky to have a job that I love!  This is my 17th year teaching, and my 15th at Reynolds School.  In addition to kindergarten, I have taught first grade, second grade, and third grade.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree, as well as my Reading Specialist and Supervisory Certificates from Montclair State University, and my Master's Degree from Penn State University.  I believe that learning is a lifelong process and am therefore committed to my own educational growth.  Growing up, I was so fortunate to have many amazing teachers who have been my inspiration and role models.  I hope that I am able to provide that same love and support to your child, and impart a love of learning and compassion that they can carry with them as they grow.

I have always held the belief that each child is unique and needs to be treated as such.  It is important to understand that people have strengths in various areas, learn differently, and have unique emotional needs.  Cultivating a sense of community where all students feel safe, supported, and included in our classroom is very important to me.  There are many ways in which I strive to make that happen, not only through explicit lessons, but the way in which our classroom is set up.  We have many flexible seating options for students to use, a Calm Corner, and assume a collective responsibility for the classroom and those in it.  My goal is to help students understand that we are a family that works together to help every student feel confident, successful, and supported.
