Through Basic Skills Instruction, we will explore reading, writing and/or mathematics together. Learning is made fun! We play a lot of educational games, and we we review and build upon foundational basic skills needed to be successful within the classroom...and in life!

    A Bit About Mrs. Larsen...
I love what I do! I have previously taught both 4th and 5th grade here at Bogert School, and a few years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to work as a literacy consultant in multiple schools; it was a great experience and I learned so much! Prior to that, I taught both 2nd and 4th grade at Smith School in Tenafly. I ALWAYS knew I wanted to be a teacher!
Another very important role that I fill is being a Mom. I have a daughter named Gabriella who is 11 years old, and a son, Dean, who is 10 years old. They keep me busy and happy! I love to play games with them, read with them, and to teach them too (of course). They are animal lovers, just like their Mom :)

I am a big animal lover! I especially love dogs, especially my own, Trooper, who is a 13 year old Boston Terrier, and Lucy, who is a 7 year old rescued pug mix. I volunteer my free time with a local rescue organization.

Another thing I love is yoga! I teach yoga to kids & teens in my "free" time :)

I also love to explore new places, and to be by the water as much as possible! I love the warmth and outdoors.

When I have a free second, I love to read!!

    My favorite books include:
Every Living Thing by Cynthia Rylant
The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo
    Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

"Never stop learning because life never stops teaching" is one of my favorite quotes.
We are all lifelong learners, and I love to both learn and to teach! :)
