Program at the seventh grade level:
The program at the seventh grade level is an integrated reading and writing program consisting of reading response exercises, arumentation and creative writing. The writer's workshop model is used daily.
Students engage in independent reading in order to practice and strengthen their reading skills. The reader's workshop model is used. A variety of short stories, narratives and essays are used to study strategies, literary elements, and the progression of plot.
